      Description

For those of us who are half-deaf, a switch to mix stereo audio to mono would be much appreciated.

I was excited to see that my "new" Samsung Note had the ability to set audio output to mono in the Accessibility > Hearing control panel. This is very important to me because I am half-deaf, and without this I miss one of the channels when listening to wired and bluetooth headsets. This setting mixes both channels and delivers them to both earpieces.

Now I am getting fed up with some aspects of TouchWiz, and would like to try a CM Jellybean ROM – but it seems that mono output is not available. At least, when I asked users of a CM ROM at XDA this, they told me there was no such thing on CM.

Please consider adding this to CM, or if I'm wrong, tell me how to activate mono audio.

Sorry for my lack of work on this. Life has caught up with me and I haven't been able to work on this. Hopefully someone else can pick it up.

As a family man, that's totally understandable but hoping someone picks it up does not sound promising at all. People at the top of the CM food chain need to realize they are missing a crucial accessibility option for those hard of hearing. There is an open issue on Android's issue tracker but it seems like nobody is paying attention there either. We need the recognition first and then CM should be able to find devs that can commit to finding the solution.

With the last Kitkat snapshot out the door and no further ones planned, it's time to clear out some of the 1300 improvement/feature requests. This bulk 'resolve'ing is aimed at requests made before Lollipop's source code dropped in November of 2014 that haven't been updated since the first cm12 nightlies in January of 2015. Many of these requests are solved in Lollipop, many don't apply anymore; several are for devices that haven't been supported since cm10.

If this request still applies to cm12.1 / Lollipop, go ahead and comment and it may be reopened. If it doesn't apply, you don't run CM anymore, you don't own this device anymore, etc. please do not comment.
